We have been here on Turtle Island for 3 generations. I was raised on the territory of the Plains Cree, Tsuut'ina, Cree, Blackfoot, Stoney, and Métis Nations and I now reside on the territories of the Katzie, Tsawwassen, Kwantlen,  W̱SÁNEĆ Semiahmoo, Stó:lō People. My Story

I have always been interested in the creation of useful things; in fact, for years, I would make all of my gifts and often still do.  I've studied herbs off and on for many years, but it wasn't until I enrolled in a course with Natalie Rousseau several years ago that I became more deeply interested in herbalism and aromatherapy. Through her course, I came to understand something profound: the culture I had been missing my entire life could be found in the ancestral lore of herbs and their everyday use. I began to feel a connection to the ancient traditions of my Celtic heritage, in particular, so learning about, and understanding how to use the same herbs that my foremothers would have grown and used has become a passion for me and provided a deep and resonant connection to my birthright.

An example of this is Hawthorn Crataegus monogyna, which grows throughout the UK, commonly in hedgerows, woodland, and scrub. The leaves, blossoms, and berries all have medicinal value, and the very first time I worked with them, I felt an immediate connection. I understood that it was an ancestral medicine for me, as someone descended from that place.

I have studied Herbal Aromatherapy at Floranella and Holistic Nutrition at Pacific Rim College, making herbal-infused oils with Kami McBride, Astroherbalism with Worts + Cunning. I also studied Yoga with Sandra Sammartino and Tarot with Carmen Spagnola.

In my previous career, I ran a small nonprofit providing trauma-informed yoga programming and developing trauma & violence-informed yoga training for yoga teachers and support professionals.
