Hello.
I'm glad you're here. My name is Delanie (she/her) and my mother's people came from Ireland, England, Scotland, and Wales, and my father's people are Mennonite from Germany, Russia and the Netherlands. We have been here on Turtle Island for 3 generations. I was raised on the territory of the Plains Cree, Tsuut'ina, Cree, Blackfoot, Stoney, and Métis Nations and I now reside on the territories of the Katzie, Tsawwassen, Kwantlen, W̱SÁNEĆ Semiahmoo, Stó:lō People. I am grateful for all those who continue to steward the land we call home.
My Story
The products I make aren't born from a business plan. They come from a lifelong pull toward making things that actually matter — things with purpose, care, and a little bit of soul baked in. For years I made most of my gifts by hand, and honestly, I still do.
I've been drawn to herbs for much of my life, but it wasn't until I enrolled in a course with Natalie Rousseau that something clicked into place. Through her teaching, I came to understand something I hadn't expected: the sense of cultural belonging I'd been quietly searching for my whole life could be found in the ancestral lore of plants and their everyday use.
That discovery led me straight to my Celtic roots. Learning about — and working with — the same herbs my foremothers would have grown and used has become one of the great passions of my life. It isn't just botanical knowledge. It's a living connection to my birthright.
Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) is a plant that captures this perfectly. It grows throughout the UK in hedgerows, woodland, and scrub, and its leaves, blossoms, and berries have been used medicinally for centuries. The very first time I worked with hawthorn, I felt it — an immediate, resonant recognition. An ancestral medicine, coming home.
That quality of attention and connection is what I bring to everything I make at Crow & Ember.
My studies include:
Herbal Aromatherapy™ at Floranella
Holistic Nutrition at Pacific Rim College
Herbal-Infused Oils with Kami McBride
Astroherbalism with Worts + Cunning
Yoga with Sandra Sammartino
Tarot with Carmen Spagnola
Before Crow & Ember, I spent years running a small nonprofit that delivered trauma-informed yoga programming to communities that needed it — and developed trauma & violence-informed yoga training for teachers and support professionals. That work shaped how I think about healing: as something that has to meet people where they actually are, not where we wish they were. It's a lens I bring to every product I formulate.
The person behind the remedies.
You're not looking for another generic wellness solution. You want something made by someone who actually understands what you're going through — the hormonal shifts, the fatigue, the feeling of being slightly out of sync with yourself.
That's exactly the kind of woman I make these products for. Because I've been her too.
I'm Delanie, the herbalist, aromatherapist, and holistic nutritionist behind Crow & Ember. I've been studying the intersection of plant medicine, modern science, and the deeper rhythms that shape our well-being — lunar cycles, seasonal shifts, the intuitive wisdom that lives in practices like Tarot when we know how to listen.
Every remedy I make draws on all of it. The clinical research on plant medicine. The ancient traditions that knew what bodies needed long before lab studies confirmed it. The intuitive layers that help me formulate products that work with your whole self, not just your symptoms.
This isn't wellness by formula. It's wellness by knowledge, experience, and deep attention.
And it's all already in the jar.
